Our BVT New Works Initiative continues on line this summer with four readings of new plays — a new one each week–recorded in zoom format by some of your favorite BVT artists and viewable at home.
Streaming begins July 10 at 7:00 p.m. Eastern
Strong by Dominic Orlando. In this gritty and suspenseful crime drama, a private detective (Mark Poppleton) and an NYPD detective (Kate Reynolds) each pursue a serial child murderer–but each harbors a secret that could prove lethal. Jim Ditmars and Suzi Takahashi round out the cast. Chris J. Handley directs. This event will go live at 7 p.m. EST on July 10 and the link will remain live for one month.
This online event is included in the BVT at Home subscription for BVT’s 2020 summer subscribers and ticket holders (information and a promotional code will be emailed a few days before the premiere performance). Playwright Dominic Orlando is based in Los Angeles. He was a writer for Seasons 1 & 2 of both The OA and MindHunter (Netflix) and is currently writing for Them and Outer Range (Amazon Prime). At BVT, Dominic wrote Nevermore (2006) and directed nine shows, including The Big Bang (2013), A Funny Thing Happened on The Way to The Forum (2012), and What The Butler Saw (2014). As a playwright Dominic has worked with theatres across the country including The Guthrie, Actors Theatre of Louisville (Humana), Berkeley Rep,TimeLine, HERE Arts Center and New York Theatre Workshop.
