Bristol Valley Theater, a professional summer theater for over 50 years, is accepting resumes for a Props Master/Artisan for our 2022 summer season. We are located in upstate New York, an hour south of Rochester, in the scenic Finger Lakes Region.
The 2022 summer season, running June 16 – September 4, includes Heartbeat of America: The Classics of Country, Cowboy Vs Samurai, Once, The Book Club Play, It’s a Small World (World Premiere), and Amy and the Orphans.
The contract will run from May 28 – August 27 with possible extension through 9/4.
Salary range for this position is $500 – 600 per week. Housing is provided at no cost to the employee.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
� Establishing communications pre season with season directors and scenic designers to discuss props/set dressing
� Creating props list for all shows. Updating as needed.
� Work with scenic designers to create a cohesive vision between the set, set dressing, furniture and props.
� Assist with set decoration
� Re-upholstery of stock furniture pieces, as needed.
� Pulling, borrowing/returning, purchasing, and fabricating all props for all shows.
� Supervising, setting schedule for and working alongside props intern, including overseeing their compliance with company safety and covid policies..
� Pulling and providing rehearsal props as needed.
� Maintaining order in the props storage areas and prop shop.
� Run crew assignments, if needed.
� Maintenance and repair, as needed, of all props
� Updating prop inventory at the conclusion of the contract
� Supervision of props budgets. Attending company budget meetings as needed.
� Personal participation, as needed, in load in/strike/changeovers.
� Restocking all rehearsal and performance props to storage in a timely manner.
� Attending all production meetings.
