Lighting Designers

Bristol Valley Theater, a professional summer theater for over 50 years, is accepting resumes for Lighting Designer positions in our 2022 summer season. We are located in upstate New York, an hour south of Rochester, in the scenic Finger Lakes Region.

Summer 2022 productions, running June 16  – September 4, include Heartbeat of America: The Classics of Country, Cowboy Vs Samurai, Once, The Book Club Play, It’s a Small World (World Premiere), and Amy and the Orphans.

Designers are hired on a show by show basis. Each designer will be in Naples for 2 weeks. A salary of $1000 per design is offered. Housing is provided at no cost to the employee.

The Lighting Designer is responsible for:
� Creation of all lighting designs for assigned productions;
� Meeting and communicating as needed pre-season with the director and the rest of the creative team to develop designs.
� Communicate with Master Electrician prior to arrival in Naples. Plot due to Master Electrician on the first day of rehearsal.
� Provide paperwork to Master Electrician for assigned production.
� Work with Master Electrician and one intern to realize design,
� Actively taking part, with the Master Electrician and Electrics intern, in the hang and focus
� Assisting Master Electrician with ordering supplies, borrowing, maintenance and repair of equipment as needed.
� Supervision of departmental budgets with Master Electrician.
� Assign, delegate and personally participate in all load-ins and strikes.
� Programming ETC console for assigned production
� Attend all production meetings.
