Natural Causes by Charles Zito  – June 18 at 7 p.m.

It’s February 1 and Maria and her family prepare for their annual Ground Hog’s day festivities. This year’s special as Anthony, the prodigal son who escaped the family dysfunction eight years ago has returned for the first time, in hopes of rescuing his youngest sibling from the twisted web of alcoholism, hypochondria and secrets. A dark comedy about family traditions gone wrong. Admission $5 at the door.

It’s a Small World by Amber Palmer – July 30 at 7 p.m.

Anne , an engineer, and Cyrus, a robot who once was a coffee pot and now spouts poetry, are driving from Florida to Canandaigua to take Cyrus home after Anne’s friend Adam abandons him at Disney World . As they travel cross country, these most unusual buddies encounter characters animate and inanimate, and have adventures whimsical and oddly touching in what may be the world’s most original road trip. Admission $5 at the door.

If you are a playwright with a new work  that you would like to be considered for the BVT New Works Initiative, we are accepting submissions of  full length plays and musicals. Submissions should be of  previously unproduced material –plays that have received readings and workshops are acceptable. Playwrights should email a copy of the play AND a one page  synopsis, including character breakdown, to Additionally, if your play is a musical, please submit a link to a sample of the musical score or a cd sample of the music. Be sure to place NEW WORKS INITIATIVE SUBMISSION in the email’s subject line.  If you prefer to submit via U.S. post, mail to ATTN: New Works Submission, BVT, PO Box 218, Naples, NY 14512.
