Bristol Valley Theater receives $225,000 Grant
Bristol Valley Theater has been approved to receive a New York State Economic Development Assistance Program grant for $225,000 for renovation and rehabilitation of the theater's Main Street performance facility.
Artistic Director Karin Bowersock, Managing Director Barb Allen and Bristol Valley Theater Board members received the good news from Senator Dale Volker in a meeting at the theater on October 15. Senator Volker was instrumental in advocating on behalf of the theater with the state senate finance committee.
The funds are earmarked for repairs and restoration to the theater's exterior masonry, roof and bell tower, for sealing the building against water damage, for a back up electrical generator and for the installation of a new more efficient heating and air conditioning system.
"We are phenomenally grateful to the New York State Senate and particularly to Senator Volker for making these much needed--but heretofore unaffordable--renovations," stated Bowersock, "With this support we can be sure that Live Theater stays alive in the Finger Lakes!"
