Be A Light January 19 – BVT joins the nationwide Ghostlight Project

Posted by on Jan 13, 2017 in BVT News | 0 comments

BVT is proud to join theaters across the country–from Broadway to high school drama clubs– for The Ghostlight Project on January 19th at 5:15 p.m. Together, we will make a “light” in the dark and pledge to stand for the values of inclusion, participation and compassion for everyone regardless of race, class, religion, country of origin, immigration status, (dis)ability, gender identity or sexual orientation.

Inspired by the tradition of leaving a “ghost light” on in a darkened theater, this is a community event where we will renew our committment to being a “brave space” where diverse opinions are invited, active listening is a fundamental value, and community engagement is supported and encouraged.

Meet OUTSIDE the theater at 5:15pm on January 19 for a short presentation. Be sure to bring a light (flashlight, cell phone, electric lantern…brighter the better, but no open flames) because at 5:30pm we’ll collectively light up the night! The event will then continue inside where we’ll mix and mingle, and have some wine! All proceeds from wine sales will benefit the Naples NY Refugee Action Committee.

Please join us! #AllAreWelcome #BeALight
