A sexual encounter leaves Lucy, a freshman in college, confused and concerned that she may have been a victim of rape. This drama, as urgent as today’s headlines, explores the events behind her uncertainty and her questions regarding consent.

Suzi Takahashi Super Girl Detective,
Written and performed by Suzi Takahashi
Do you remember your kindergarten crush? What if they contacted you after 40-years to tell you something important? In a new solo work, actor Suzi Takahashi shares her real life story of being reunited with her first crush…and its not what you think. Come learn what the author was surprised to find out about herself…that she is, in fact, a Super Girl Detective. Tickets $5 at the door. Q & A with the writer/performer to follow.

August 11, 7 p.m.  – A New Works solo show –
The Prodigy,
written and performed by Rick Apicella 

In this one man drama/comedy, boxing trainer Andrew Soracco discovers a mysterious prodigy of boxing who doesn’t speak. Together they will navigate the circus of professional prize fighting while being tested at every turn. Tickets $5 at the door. Q & A with the writer/performer to follow.

August 28, 7 p.m. –  A very special solo event – 
An Evening of Song & Story with Tommy Labanaris
BVT welcomes back Tommy Labanaris for an evening of music and musings. Tickets $20. Reservations strongly recommended. Call 585 374 9032. Reception with Tommy to follow the performance.

If you are a playwright with a new work  that you would like to be considered for the BVT New Works Initiative, we are accepting submissions of  full length plays and musicals. Submissions should be of  previously unproduced material –plays that have received readings and workshops are acceptable. Playwrights should email a copy of the play AND a one page  synopsis, including character breakdown, to Additionally, if your play is a musical, please submit a link to a sample of the musical score or a cd sample of the music.
